Land Use Team
The team works on several fronts to improve local land use planning capacity. Focus in recent years as been on providing baseline scientific information to local governments, providing technical support to planners, including up to date maps of sensitive ecosystems. Projects include:
- Assisting the Similkameen Valley Planning Society with the “Sustainable Similkameen” project
- Initiating “Keeping Nature in Our Future” biodiversity conservation strategy
- Environmental planning support to local governments
